COMBUSTION
It can be defined as the chemical mixing of combustible compounds taking place in fuel oil with the oxygen in air rapidly. This must be rapidly and in a way emerging heat. During the combustion of fuel and oxygen, heterogeneous combustion occurs in different phases while homogeneous combustion occurs in the same phase. As natural gas is in gas phase and the oxygen in air is in gas phase, combustion is homogeneous.
C,H,S,N + O2 +IGNITION TEMPERATURE (heat) ----------> CO2 + H2O+ NXOY +SO2 + SO3+HCN -^H
The corrosion seen on the exterior and interior surfaces of boilers and pipes of the container due to conversion of sulphur oxide into sulphuric acid by mixing with fuel gas or humidity in the air after combustion. Sulphur oxide also causes acid rains and harms the environment. However this situation is not observed in LGN because this substance is removed from LGN.
Soot and flying cinder are the particles expanding to the environment and they harm the environment. They lead unfavorable problems in terms of cleaning; they cause respiratory difficulties; they cover the surfaces of the boilers; they affect heat transmission adversely; they decrease efficiency and calorific intensity. Moreover these particles frequently lead fuel problems. Cleaning, maintenance and repair of the devices bring about work, time and personnel loss. As there is no soot, smut or particles in LNG, the cases listed above are not observed.
There is no need for preliminary preparation for combustion of LNG;
There is no need for preliminary preparation for breaking, transportation and drying of coal; heating fuel-oil in order to alter its phase or any apparatus used to prevent dewing in LPG.
It is an economical fuel, and also the following advantages which have been mentioned above as well make it attractive: It is clean; there is no need for preliminary preparation; no need to clean smut or soot, it can be controlled automatically; high calorific efficiency; boiler efficiency; fuel efficiency; there is no halt in works; and unit price of it is lower than the others.
Moreover it is appropriate for automatic control. Safety is very high and it is possible to keep fuel consumption in minimum level since the fuel is managed automatically.
LNG;
- FOR 1% SULPHURIC FUEL-OIL %20-30
- FOR LPG provides % 40-50 saving.
- FOR DIESEL FUEL % 60-65
Besides the advantages of LNG, meeting the need of an enterprise with such low cost and high efficiency has made LNG very attractive in our country and all over the world.
